     Clarence Oliver Ridley was born on 9 August 1869.1 He was the son of Reverend Oliver Matthew Ridley and Frances Eliza Keane.1 He married, firstly, Anna Arabella Eccles, daughter of Gregory William Eccles, in 1896.1 He married, secondly, Gertrude Henrietta Houseman, daughter of Henry Houseman, on 25 April 1900.1 He died on 24 May 1951 at age 81.1
     He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, England.1 He was with the Ministry of Munitions during the First World War.1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1919.1 He was registered as a Member, Institution of Civil Engineers (M.I.C.E.)1 He was registered as a Member, Institution of Mechanical Engineers (M.I.Mech.E.)1
