     Raphael Schomberg was born on 14 August 1714 at Schweinberg, Germany.1 He was the son of Meyer Löw Schomberg.1 He married Elizabeth Crowcher, daughter of Joseph Crowcher, on 8 April 1742.1 He died on 29 June 1792 at age 77 at Castle Street, Reading, Berkshire, England.1
     He graduated from Aberdeen University, Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)1 He was appointed Fellow, Society of Antiquaries (F.S.A.)1

     He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.1 He wrote the book Naval Chronology, published 1802.1
