     Francis Gordon Haydon was born in 1912 at Colchester, Essex, England.1 He was the son of Francis Emmanuel Haydon and Carrie Louise Hammond.1 He married Margery Edna Bell, daughter of Herbert Ives Bell and Ada Emma Remington, in 1936.1 He died on 9 June 1943 at North Cowton, Yorkshire, England, killed in an air accident.1
     He gained the rank of Sergeant Pilot in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.1
