     Lutz Baron von Thungen was born in 1894 at Thüngen, Germany. He was the son of Hans Karl Baron von Thungen and Julia Gräfin von Giech. He married Irmgard Baronin von Thungen, daughter of Rudolf Baron von Thungen and Elisabeth Prinzessin zu Ysenburg und Büdingen, in 1917 at Wurzburg. He died in 1940 at Döllersheim, Austria, killed in action.
     Lutz Baron von Thungen fought in the Second World War.
