     Maj.-Gen. Henry William Newcome was the son of Major Henry George Newcome.1 He married Lady Helen Alice Bootle-Wilbraham, daughter of Edward George Bootle-Wilbraham, 2nd Earl of Lathom and Lady Wilma Pleydell-Bouverie, on 10 June 1925.1 He died on 25 February 1963.1
     He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)1 He gained the rank of Major-General in the Royal Artillery.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.)1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)1
