     Lewis Silkin, 1st Baron Silkin was born on 14 November 1889.2 He married, firstly, Rosa Neft on 1 August 1915.2 He married, secondly, Frieda M. Pilling, daughter of Rev. Canon unknown Pilling, on 5 October 1948.2 He married, thirdly, Marguerite Schlageter on 26 March 1964.2 He died on 11 May 1972 at age 82.2
     He was a practising solicitor in 1920.3 He held the office of Member of the London County Council in 1925.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Labour) for Peckham between 1936 and 1950.3 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1945.3 He held the office of Minister of Town and Country Planning between 1945 and 1950.1 He was created 1st Baron Silkin, of Dulwich, co.
