Robert Cowper Rome and Gertrude Florence Bisbee, in 1962.1 He died on 16 April 2008 at age 87.1
     He was commissioned on 1 November 1938, in the service of the Royal Air Force.1 He fought in the Second World War, where he became a POW in 1942.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross (D.F.C.) in 1941.1
