     Hon. Catherine Buchanan was born in 1895. She is the daughter of James Buchanan, 1st and last Baron Woolavington.1 She married Major Sir Reginald Narcissus Macdonald-Buchanan in 1922.
     Her married name became Macdonald-Buchanan.

     James Buchanan, 1st and last Baron Woolavington was born on 16 August 1849 at Brockville, Ontario, Canada.2 He was the son of Alexander Buchanan and Catherine McLean.2 He died in 1935.
     James Buchanan, 1st and last Baron Woolavington gained the title of 1st Baron Woolavington. He was invested as a Knight Grand Cross, Royal Victorian Order (G.C.V.O.).1 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.3
