     Samuel Haughton was born on 21 December 1821.1 He was the son of Samuel Haughton and Sarah Hancock.2 He married Louisa Haughton, daughter of John Haughton and Louisa Courtauld Osbourne, on 3 July 1848.1 He died on 31 October 1897 at age 75.1
     He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland, with a College Dublin (BD.)1 He graduated with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)1 He was Professor of Geology and Senior Fellow at Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.1 He was a theologian, mathematician and zoologist.1 He was President of the Royal Zoological Society of Ireland.1 He was President of the Royal Irish Academy.1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.)1 He was Governor of Sir Patrick Dunn's Hospital.1 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Civil Law (D.C.L.) by Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1 He was a vigorous opponent of Darwin's theory of evolution.1 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.) by Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.1

     Samuel George Steele Haughton was born on 3 September 1883.1 He was the son of Samuel Haughton and Helena Sophia Casey.2 He married Marjorie Winifred Porter, daughter of Everard Porter, in 1919.1 He died on 30 May 1956 at age 72.1
     He was educated at Blundell's School, Tiverton, Devon, EnglandG.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland, in 1903 with a Bachelor of Medicine (M.B.)1 He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland, with a Bachelor of Surgery (B.Ch.)1 He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland, with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)1 He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland, in 1906 with a Bachelor of Obstretic Arts (B.A.O.)1 He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland, in 1913 with a Master of Obstretic Arts (M.A.O.)1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1931.1 He was awarded the Kaisar-i-Hind Gold Medal in 1933.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Indian Empire (C.I.E.) in 1935.1 He was honorary Surgeon to HM King George VI between 1937 and 1939.1 He retired from the military in 1939, with the rank of Colonel, late of the Indian Medical Service.1 He lived at Red Stack, Cranleigh, Surrey, England.1
