Francis Alexander Chetwode Hamilton and Ouida Mary Tryon.2 He married Bridget Mary Grant-Thorold, daughter of Major Harry Grant-Thorold, on 16 February 1945.1 He died on 11 May 1989 at age 77 at Slaley, Northumberland, England.3
     He was educated at Eton College, Eton, Berkshire, England.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.2 He fought in the Second World War.1 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.) in 1942.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Northumberland Fusiliers.1 He was Deputy Commandant, Royal Hong Kong Defence Force between 1956 and 1958.1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1959.1 He lived in 1976 at East Ridley Hall, Staley, Hexham, Northumberland, England.2
