     He was disinherited by his father.1 He was in the Honourable East India Company Service.1

     Maj.-Gen. James Mandeville Mandeville-Hackett was the son of Thomas Mandeville and Mary Hackett.2 He married Marguerite Gledsdale.3 He died on 18 April 1842 at Cananore, Madras, India.1
     He gained the rank of Colonel in the 51st Madras Native Infantry.1 He was given the name of James Mandeville at birth. He lived at Orchardstown, Clonmel, County Tipperary, Ireland.1
