     Sir Patrick Gardiner Hastings was born on 17 March 1880 at London, England.3 He was the son of Alfred Gardiner Hastings and Kate Comyns Carr.3 He married Mary Ellenore Grundy, daughter of Lt.-Col. Frederick Leigh Grundy, in 1906.3 He died on 26 February 1952 at age 71 at 9 Dorchester Court, Sloane Street, Belgravia, London, England.3
     He lived at Thurston Hall, Framfield, Sussex, England.1 He was appointed Queen's Counsel (Q.C.)1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Wallsend between 1922 and 1926.3 He was appointed Knight in 1924.3 He held the office of Attorney-General in 1924.3 He wrote the book Cases in Court, published 1949.3 He wrote the book Famous and Infamous Cases, published 1950.3
