     Sir Albert Edward Whitaker, 1st Bt. was born on 9 May 1860.1 He was the son of Joseph Whitaker.2 He married Eileen Gertrude Celeste Croker, daughter of John Stokes Croker and Bithia Mary Sheppard, on 29 April 1896.1 He died on 11 June 1945 at age 85.1
     He fought in the Afghan War between 1870 and 1890.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Northumberland Fusiliers.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in dispatches.1 He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.)1 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1919.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Nottinghamshire.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Nottinghamshire.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Nottiinghamshire in 1921.1 He was Lord High Steward of East Retford.1 He was appointed Knight in 1928.1 He was created 1st Baronet Whitaker, of Babworth, co. Nottingham [U.K.] on 15 July 1936.1

     Eileen Gertrude Celeste Croker was the daughter of John Stokes Croker and Bithia Mary Sheppard.2 She married Sir Albert Edward Whitaker, 1st Bt., son of Joseph Whitaker, on 29 April 1896.1 She died on 5 May 1947.
     She was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.)1 From 29 April 1896, her married name became Whitaker.

     Sir John Albert Charles Whitaker, 2nd Bt. was born on 5 March 1897.1 He was the son of Sir Albert Edward Whitaker, 1st Bt. and Eileen Gertrude Celeste Croker.2 He married Pamela Lucy Mary Snowden, daughter of Herbert Guy Snowden and Florence Mary Hankey, on 18 December 1923.1 He died on 5 October 1957 at age 60.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He fought in the First World War.1 He was commander of the Coldstream Guards between 1937 and 1939.1 He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in dispatches twice.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Nottinghamshire.1 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1942.1 He was Director of Military Training between 1942 and 1945.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Nottinghamshire.1 He gained the rank of Major-General in the Coldstream Guards.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1945.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Whitaker, of Babworth, co.      From 18 December 1923, her married name became Whitaker.
