     He was educated between 1808 and 1809 at Charterhouse School, Godalming, Surrey, England.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Grenadier Guards.1 He fought in the Napoleonic Wars.1

Charles Edward Bagnall and Sylvia Joan Robinson.3,1 He married, firstly, Clara Ashwin, daughter of James Ashwin and Clara Watson, in 1933 at Evesham, Worcestershire, England.1 He married, secondly, Pamela M. B. Draughn in 1947 at Leicester, Leicestershire, England.1 He died on 16 December 1993 at age 89 at Durweston, Dorset, England.1
     He fought in the Second World War between 1939 and 1945.1 He was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.)1
