     Edward Basil Tournour Studd was born on 20 October 1878 at Dhoolie, Tirhoot, India.1 He was the son of Edward John Charles Studd and Helen Marian Turnour Richardson.1 He married Norah Wharton Burdon in 1909 at Morpeth, Northumberland, England.1 He died on 2 March 1951 at age 72 at Stanton, Broadway, Gloucestershire, England.1
     He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, England.1 He was an indigo planter at Behar, India.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Northumberland Fusiliers.1
