Thomas Clive Usher was born on 21 June 1907.1 He was the son of Sir Robert Usher, 2nd Bt. and Katherine Scott Turnbull.2 He married Valentine Stockwell, daughter of Brigadier Cecil Valentine Stockwell, on 8 September 1939.1 He died on 17 November 1982 at age 75.1
He was educated at Uppingham School, Uppingham, Rutland, England.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He was awarded the Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1943 and bar.1 He gained the rank of Brigadier in the Royal Artillery.1 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1945.1 He held the office of Aide-de-Camp to HM Queen Elizabeth II between 1957 and 1958.1
