     She graduated from McGill University, Montreal, Quebec, Canada, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 From 8 June 1946, her married name became Tupper.

     Victor Gordon Tupper was born on 4 February 1896.1 He was the son of Hon. Sir Charles Hibbert Tupper and Janet Macdonald.2 He died on 9 April 1917 at age 21, killed in action.1
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 16th Canadian Infantry Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force.1 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in dispatches and was wounded twice.1
