     He was awarded the Member, Order of Australia.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Commander in the Royal Navy.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Australian Navy.1 He was appointed Commander, Royal Victorian Order (C.V.O.)1 He was Private Secretary to HRH The Duke of Edinburgh in 1948.1
