Henry Bull Templar Strangeways was born in 1832 at Shapwick, Somerset, England.1 He was the son of Henry Bull Strangeways and Sophia Jane Templer.1,2 He married Maria Cordelia Wigley, daughter of Henry Wigley, on 10 January 1857.1 He died on 10 February 1920.1
He was admitted to Middle Temple on 6 June 1856 entitled to practise as a barrister.1 He held the office of Member of the Legislative Assemby (M.L.A.) [South Australia] between 1858 and 1862.1 He held the office of Attorney-General [South Australia] between 1860 and 1861.1 He held the office of Minister for Crown Lands and Immigration [South Australia] between 1861 and 1865.1 He was admitted to South Australian Bar on 8 August 1861.1 He held the office of Member of the Legislative Assemby (M.L.A.) [South Australia] between 1862 and 1871.1 He held the office of Premier [South Australia] between 1868 and 1870.1 He held the office of Attorney-General [South Australia] between 1868 and 1870.1
