     Maj.-Gen. William Sullivan was born on 10 October 1804.1 He was the son of Sir Richard Joseph Sullivan, 1st Bt. and Mary Lodge.2 He married Euphemia Caulfield Harrington, daughter of Thomas Knox Harrington.1 He died on 6 January 1870 at age 65.1
     He gained the rank of Colonel in the 58th Regiment.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)1
