     Helen McClelland Adams was the daughter of John R. Adams. She married, firstly, John Gillespie Spens, son of Walter Cook Spens and Helen Gillespie, on 26 April 1900.1 She married, secondly, Alexander Moncrieff, Lord Moncrieff, son of Alexander Moncreiff, on 31 March 1913.1 She died on 21 October 1961.1
     From 26 April 1900, her married name became Spens. From 31 March 1913, her married name became Moncrieff.1

     Walter John McClelland Spens was born on 16 May 1902.1 He is the son of John Gillespie Spens and Helen McClelland Adams.2 He married Mary Ellinor Reade Bentley, daughter of Edmund George Bentley, on 10 November 1928.
     He was educated at Royal Naval College, Osborne, Isle of Wight, England. He was educated at Royal Naval College, Darmouth, Devon, England. He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Commander in the Royal Navy.1 He was educated on 10 November 1928 RNC's Osborne and Dartmouth m Mary Ellinor Reade (married 2nd Rupert Charles Alderson, s of Arthur Harold Engelbach, of Looe, Cornwall), dau of Edmund George Bentley, LLB, of West Hill Cottage, Harrow-on-the-Hill, Middlesex, and was killed in acti.1
