     Sir Thomas Smith, 1st Bt. was born on 23 March 1833.1 He is the son of Benjamin Smith and Susannah Pellatt.2 He married Ann Elisa Parbury, daughter of Frederick Parbury, on 27 August 1862.1 He died on 1 October 1909 at age 76.1
     He was appointed Knight Commander, Royal Victorian Order (K.C.V.O.)1 He was created 1st Baronet Smith, of Stratford Place, London [U.K.] on 6 September 1897.1 He was Surgeon-Extraordinary to HM Queen Victoria.1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal College of Surgeons (F.R.C.S.)1 He held the office of Honorary Serjeant-Surgeon to HM King Edward VIIs.1 He was Consulting Surgeon at St. Bartholomew's Hospital Medical School, London, England.1

     Sir Thomas Rudolph Hampden Smith, 2nd Bt. was born on 24 January 1869.1 He was the son of Sir Thomas Smith, 1st Bt. and Ann Elisa Parbury.2 He married Anne Ellen Sharpe, daughter of Joseph William Sharpe, on 14 June 1897.1 He died on 25 June 1958 at age 89, without issue.1
     Sir Thomas Rudolph Hampden Smith, 2nd Bt. usually went by his middle name of Rudolph.1 He was educated at Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, England, Winchester.1 He was registered as a Member, Royal College of Surgeons (M.R.C.S.)1 He graduated from Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He graduated from Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Bachelor of Medicine (M.B.)1 He graduated from Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Bachelor of Surgery (B.C.)1 He was registered as a Licentiate, Royal College of Physicians, London (L.R.C.P.) in 1892.1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal College of Surgeons (F.R.C.S.) in 1895.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Smith, of Stratford Place, London [U.K., 1897] on 1 October 1909.1 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1920.1
