     Benjamin Smith was the son of Richard Smith and Elizabeth (?).2 He married Charlotte Turner, daughter of Nicholas Turner, on 23 February 1765.1 He died in 1806.1
     He held the office of Sheriff of Hampshire in 1777.1 He lived at Lys, Hampshire, England.1

     From before 1768, her married name became Berney.2 From 20 November 1768, her married name became Dyer.
