Robert Kay-Shuttleworth was born on 20 October 1847.1 He was the son of Sir James Phillips Kay-Shuttleworth, 1st Bt. and Janet Shuttleworth.2 He married Ethel Clementina Freeman, daughter of Alfred John Freeman, on 22 January 1896.1 He died on 30 July 1934 at age 86.1
