     William Graham Shaughnessy, 3rd Baron Shaughnessy was born on 28 March 1922.¹ He is the son of William James Shaughnessy, 2nd Baron Shaughnessy and Marion Graham.² He married Mary Whitley, daughter of John Whitley, on 18 March 1944.¹ He died on 22 May 2003 at age 81.¹
     He was educated at Bishop's College School, Montreal, Quebec, Canada^G.¹ He succeeded as the 3rd Baron Shaughnessy, of Montreal, Canada and Ashford, co. Limerick [U.K., 1916] on 4 October 1938.¹ He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.¹ He gained the rank of Major in the Canadian Grenadier Guards.¹ He graduated from Bishop's University, Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada^G, in 1941 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He graduated from Columbia University, Manhattan, New York City, New York, U.S.A., in 1947 with a Master of Science (M.Sc.)¹ He was executive assistant to the Canadian Minister of Finance between 1949 and 1951.¹ He was awarded the Canadian Decoration (C.D.) in 1955.¹ He was President of the Royal Commonwealth Society, Montreal between 1959 and 1961.¹

     Hon. Margaret Helena Graham Shaughnessy was born on 30 October 1912.¹ She was the daughter of William James Shaughnessy, 2nd Baron Shaughnessy and Marion Graham.² She died on 24 September 1966 at age 53, unmarried.¹

     Hon. Hazel Marion Shaughnessy was born on 16 April 1914.¹ She is the daughter of William James Shaughnessy, 2nd Baron Shaughnessy and Marion Graham.² She married James R. Ballantyne in 1938.¹
     From 1938, her married name became Ballantyne.

     James R. Ballantyne married Hon. Hazel Marion Shaughnessy, daughter of William James Shaughnessy, 2nd Baron Shaughnessy and Marion Graham, in 1938.¹

     Hon. Bridget Ann Shaughnessy was born on 16 February 1916.¹ She is the daughter of William James Shaughnessy, 2nd Baron Shaughnessy and Marion Graham.²

     John Whitley lived at Copthorne House, Letchworth, Hertfordshire, England.¹

     Mary Whitley was the daughter of John Whitley.² She married William Graham Shaughnessy, 3rd Baron Shaughnessy, son of William James Shaughnessy, 2nd Baron Shaughnessy and Marion Graham, on 18 March 1944.¹ She died in 1999.¹
     After her marriage, Mary Whitley was styled as Baroness Shaughnessy on 18 March 1944. From 18 March 1944, her married name became Shaughnessy.

     Hon. Patrick John Shaughnessy was born on 23 October 1944.¹ He was the son of William Graham Shaughnessy, 3rd Baron Shaughnessy and Mary Whitley.² He died in 1982.¹
