     Professor Helen Charlotte Isabella Fraser was the daughter of Hon. Arthur Hay David Fraser and Lucy Jane Fergusson.2 She married Professor David Thomas Gwynne-Vaughan, son of Henry Gwynne-Vaughan, on 7 December 1911.1 She died on 26 August 1967, without issue.1
     She graduated from London University, London, England, in 1907 with a Doctor of Science (D.Sc.)1 From 7 December 1911, her married name became Gwynne-Vaughan. She was Chief Controller, QMAAC BEF between 1917 and 1918.1 She was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1918.1 She was Commandant, Women's Royal Air Force between 1918 and 1919.1 She was appointed Dame Commander, Order of the British Empire (D.B.E.) in 1919.1 She was professor between 1921 and 1944 at London University, London, England.1 She was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the British Empire (G.B.E.) in 1929.1 She was appointed Fellow, Linnaean Society (F.L.S.)1 She was Director, Auxiliary Territorial Service between 1939 and 1941.1

     He gained the rank of officer in the 60th Rifles.1
