Bevis was born on 23 May 1879 at Strathalbyn, South Australia, Australia.2 She was the daughter of Reverend Henry Bevis and Gertrude Emma Rose Woodgate.2 She married Colonel Frederick Courtenay Longuet Hulton, son of Reverend Campbell Basset Arthur Grey Hulton and Sarah Stokes Fletcher, circa 1920 at Paris, France.1
     From circa 1920, her married name became Hulton.1
