     James Ross was born on 7 November 1865.1 He married May Paterson, daughter of Kenneth Paterson, on 12 July 1894.1

     Sir James Paterson Ross, 1st Bt. was born on 26 May 1895.1 He was the son of James Ross and May Paterson.2 He married Marjorie Burton Townsend, daughter of Captain Frederick William Townsend, on 5 July 1924.1 He died on 5 July 1980 at age 85.1
