     Sir Emil Hugo Oscar Robert Ropner, 1st Bt. was born on 16 December 1838.¹ He was the son of John Henry Ropner and Emilie Bessel.² He married Mary Anne Craik, daughter of John Craik, on 26 July 1858.¹ He died on 26 February 1924 at age 85.¹
     Sir Emil Hugo Oscar Robert Ropner, 1st Bt. usually went by his middle name of Robert. He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for the North Riding, Yorkshire.¹ He held the office of High Sheriff of County Durham in 1896.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of County Durham.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel and Honorary Colonel in the 1st Volunteer Battalion, Durham Light Infantry.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Stockton-on-Tees between 1900 and 1910.¹ He was appointed Knight in 1902.¹ He was created 1st Baronet Ropner, of Preston Hall, co. Durham [U.K.] on 20 August 1904.¹

     John Craik lived at Newton Stewart, Wigtownshire, Scotland.¹

     Mary Anne Craik was the daughter of John Craik.² She married Sir Emil Hugo Oscar Robert Ropner, 1st Bt., son of John Henry Ropner and Emilie Bessel, on 26 July 1858.¹ She died on 20 October 1921.¹
     From 26 July 1858, her married name became Ropner.

     Sir John Henry Ropner, 2nd Bt. was born on 7 September 1860.¹ He was the son of Sir Emil Hugo Oscar Robert Ropner, 1st Bt. and Mary Anne Craik.² He married Margaret MacGregor, daughter of John MacGregor, on 26 September 1888.¹ He died on 13 July 1936 at age 75.²
     He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of County Durham.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)¹ He was awarded the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve Officers' Decoration (V.D.)¹ He held the office of High Sheriff of County Durham in 1911.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel and Honorary Colonel in the 1st Volunteer Battalion, Durham Light Infantry.¹ He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Ropner, of Preston Hall, co. Durham [U.K., 1904] on 26 February 1924.¹

     John MacGregor lived at Sheffield, Yorkshire, England.¹

     Margaret MacGregor was the daughter of John MacGregor.² She married Sir John Henry Ropner, 2nd Bt., son of Sir Emil Hugo Oscar Robert Ropner, 1st Bt. and Mary Anne Craik, on 26 September 1888.¹ She died on 13 April 1932.¹
     From 26 September 1888, her married name became Ropner.

     Margaret Ropner was born on 22 September 1894.¹ She was the daughter of Sir John Henry Ropner, 2nd Bt. and Margaret MacGregor.² She married Captain John Robert Anderson Stroyan, son of John Stroyan, on 30 September 1918.¹ She died on 9 August 1927 at age 32.¹
     From 30 September 1918, her married name became Stroyan.

     John Stroyan lived at Lanrick, Perthshire, Scotland.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)¹

     Captain John Robert Anderson Stroyan is the son of John Stroyan.² He married Margaret Ropner, daughter of Sir John Henry Ropner, 2nd Bt. and Margaret MacGregor, on 30 September 1918.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Artillery.¹

     Mary Enid Ropner was born on 4 August 1897.¹ She was the daughter of Sir John Henry Ropner, 2nd Bt. and Margaret MacGregor.² She married Ronald Strathearn Stroyan, son of John Stroyan, on 24 July 1923.¹
     From 24 July 1923, her married name became Stroyan.
