Virginia Eleanor Consett Stephen was the daughter of Montague Consett Stephen.2 She married Lt.-Col. Thomas William Carre-Riddell, son of John Carre Riddell and Mary Anne Sibella Stephen, on 23 February 1886.1 She died in 1898.1

Colonel Consett Carre-Riddell was born on 5 January 1887.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Thomas William Carre-Riddell and Virginia Eleanor Consett Stephen.2 He married Thora Menzies, daughter of John L. Menzies, on 2 August 1923.1 He died on 2 July 1953 at age 66.1
He graduated from Melbourne University, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)1 He graduated from Melbourne University, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, with a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (B.M.E.)1 He was registered as a Member, Institute of Engineers (Australia.)1 He fought in the First World War, where he was wounded and he was mentioned in despatches twice.1 He was awarded the Royal Officers' Decoration (V.D.)1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the Royal Australian Engineers.1 He fought in the Second World War.1
