Reuben Norton was born on 19 April 1853.1 He was the son of Reverend William Norton and Caroline Theresa Riddock.2 He married Evelyn Frost, daughter of Sir Thomas Gibbons Frost, on 1 September 1881.1 He died on 30 August 1931 at age 78.1
He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Montgomeryshire.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Durham Light Infantry.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Montgomeryshire in 1915.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the 3rd Battalion, Suffolk Regiment.1
