Sir Joseph Radcliffe, 1st Bt.1

     Sir Joseph Radcliffe, 1st Bt. was born on 8 May 1744.1 He was the son of Joseph Pickford and Mary Radcliffe.2 He married, firstly, Katherine Percival, daughter of Thomas Percival, on 3 March 1763.1 He married, secondly, Elizabeth Sunderland, daughter of Richard Sunderland, on 16 November 1765.1 He married, thirdly, Elizabeth Creswick, daughter of Richard Creswick, on 8 April 1807.1 He died on 19 February 1819 at age 74.1
     He was given the name of Joseph Pickford at birth.1 On 19 December 1795 his name was legally changed to Joseph Radcliffe by royal licence under terms of his uncle's will.1 He was created 1st Baronet Radcliffe, of Milnesbridge House, Yorkshire [U.K.] on 2 November 1813, with the unusual waiver of a patent fee, for his energy as a magistrate in suppressing unrest in 1812.1

     Katherine Percival was the daughter of Thomas Percival.1 She married Sir Joseph Radcliffe, 1st Bt., son of Joseph Pickford and Mary Radcliffe, on 3 March 1763.1 She died on 15 May 1765.1
     From 3 March 1763, her married name became Pickford.1

Reverend Joseph Pickford Radcliffe1

     Reverend Joseph Pickford Radcliffe was born on 31 August 1766.1 He was the son of Sir Joseph Radcliffe, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Sunderland.2,1 He married an unknown person on 19 September 1796.2 He married Mary Grant, daughter of Sir Archibald Grant of Monymusk, 3rd Bt. and Mary Callender, on 19 September 1796.1 He died on 17 May 1804 at age 37.1
     They also had three daughters who died unmarried.1

     Daniël Gildemeester was born on 25 July 1714 at Utrecht, The Netherlands.1 He was the son of Jan Gildemeester and Barbara de la Court.1 He married Emmeline Micholls.1 He died on 15 February 1793 at age 78 at Lisbon, Portugal.1
     He held the office of Consul-General to Lisbon between 1759 and 1780.1
