     Anthony Gerard Hugh Bampfylde was born on 2 January 1920.1 He was the son of Hugh De Burgh Warwick Bampfylde and Margaret Mary Pasture.2 He married Brita Yvonne Cederström, daughter of Baron Rolf Cederström, on 25 October 1947.1 He died on 2 January 1969 at age 49.1
     He was educated Winchester and RMC Sandhurst.1 He was Captain Rifle Brigade WW II (POW) in 1939.1
