     John Swinnerton Phillimore was born on 26 February 1873.¹ He was the son of Admiral Sir Augustus Phillimore and Harriet Eleanor Fortescue.² He married Margaret Cecily Hamilton-Spencer-Smith, daughter of Reverend Spencer Compton Hamilton-Spencer-Smith and Mary Baillie-Hamilton, on 26 July 1900.² He died on 16 November 1926 at age 53.¹
