     Very Rev. George Butler was born on 5 July 1774.1 He was the son of Reverend Weeden Butler and Anne Giberne.2 He married Sarah Maria Gray, daughter of John Gray, on 18 March 1818.1 He died on 30 April 1853 at age 78.1
     He was the headmaster between 1805 and 1829 at Harrow School, Harrow, London, EnglandG.1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.) in 1819.1 He held the office of Dean of Peterborough in 1842.1
