William Edward Thomas Bolitho was born on 2 July 1862 at Penzance, Cornwall, England.1 He was the son of William Bolitho and Mary Hichens Yonge.1 He married Ethel Grace Macleod, daughter of Robert Bruce Aeneas Macleod and Ellen Augusta Willoughby, on 21 June 1888 at Inverness Cathedral, Inverness, Inverness-shire, Scotland.1 He died on 21 February 1919 at age 56.1
