     Maria Henrietta Layard was born on 18 July 1847.¹ She was the daughter of General William Twistleton Layard and Catherine Anne Sargent.¹ She married C. W. Horsfall on 16 April 1869.¹
     From 16 April 1869, her married name became Horsfall.¹

     Hannah Pallant was born in 1848.¹ She was the daughter of Joseph Pallant and Hannah Ward.¹ She married John Anthony Layard, son of Charles Edward Layard and Barbara Bridgetina Mooyaart, in October 1867.²
     She was also known as Anne Pollard.² From October 1867, her married name became Layard.²
