Maj.-Gen. Charles Frederick Gregorie was born on 24 November 1834 at London, England.1 He was the son of David William Gregorie.1 He married Henrietta Amy Lawrence, daughter of George Lawrence, on 20 October 1859.1 He died in 1918.1
He was educated at Westminster School, Westminster, London, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Ensign in 1855 in the 23rd Regiment of Foot.1 He fought in the Crimean War.1 He fought in the Egyptian Campaign in 1882, and was mentioned in despatches.1 He gained the rank of Major-General in 1890.1
