Captain Claud Proby was born on 5 February 1917.2 He is the son of Major Sir Richard George Proby, 1st Bt. and Betty Monica Murray.1,2 He married Patricia Amelia Pearce, daughter of Lt.-Cdr. Vyvyan Whitmore Pearce, on 12 September 1942.2 He died in 1987.2
