Martin Denzil Fortescue was born on 5 January 1924.1 He was the son of Denzil George Fortescue, 6th Earl Fortescue and Marjorie Ellinor Trotter.1 He married, firstly, Prudence Louisa Rowley, daughter of Lt.-Col. Sir Charles Samuel Rowley, 6th Bt. and Margery Frances Bacon, on 23 April 1954.1 He married, secondly, Caroline (?) on 18 November 1994.1 He died on 15 May 2005 at age 81.2
     Hon. Martin Denzil Fortescue was educated at Eton College, Eton, Berkshire, England.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the service of the Royal Navy.1 He was invested as a Fellow, Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (F.R.I.C.S.).1 He lived in 2003 at Wincombe Park, Shaftesbury, Dorset, England.1
