Alan Digby Murray was born on 20 June 1870.1 He was the son of Sir Digby Murray of Blackbarony, 11th Bt. and Helen Cornelia Sanger.2 He married Eileen Muriel Shaw, daughter of Arthur E. Shaw, on 19 November 1907.1 He died on 17 October 1954 at age 84.1

Sir Alan John Digby Murray of Blackbarony, 14th Bt. was born on 22 June 1909.1 He was the son of Alan Digby Murray and Eileen Muriel Shaw.2 He married Mabel Elisabeth Schiele, daughter of Arthur Bernard Schiele, on 28 August 1943.1 He died on 9 May 1978 at age 68.1
He was educated at Brighton College, Brighton, Sussex, EnglandG.1 He succeeded as the 14th Baronet Murray, of Blackbarony, co. Peebles [N.S., 1628] on 16 August 1959.1
