     James Finlay Muir was born on 17 December 1870.¹ He was the son of Sir John Muir of Deanston, 1st Bt. and Margaret Morrison Kay.² He married Charlotte Escudier Turner, daughter of Joseph Harling Turner, on 25 August 1909.¹ He died on 7 September 1948 at age 77.¹
     He was Justice of the Peace (J.P.).¹ He was chairman J Finlay & County.¹ Perthshire.¹ He lived Braco Castle.¹

     Charlotte Escudier Turner was the daughter of Joseph Harling Turner.² She married James Finlay Muir, son of Sir John Muir of Deanston, 1st Bt. and Margaret Morrison Kay, on 25 August 1909.¹ She died on 1 February 1967.¹
     She was Justice of the Peace (J.P.).¹ 2nd.¹ Her married name became Muir. She was Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.).¹

(see AUCKLAND, B), and widow of (a) Philip Dalton Worthington, MBE, and (b) Lieutenant-Commander Thomas Mervyn Smith Dorrien Smith in 1983.¹

     Doreen Margaret Watney was the daughter of Colonel Charles Wanford Watney.² She married Gerald Robin Muir, son of James Finlay Muir and Charlotte Escudier Turner, on 2 January 1940.¹ She died in 1982.¹

     Hugh James Robin Muir was born on 17 October 1944.¹ He was the son of Gerald Robin Muir and Doreen Margaret Watney.² He married Maureen Yearsly in 1969.¹ He died in 1995.¹
     He was educated Trin College Glenalmond.¹ He lived in 2003 at Malanda, Queensland, Australia.¹

     Maureen Yearsly married Hugh James Robin Muir, son of Gerald Robin Muir and Doreen Margaret Watney, in 1969.¹
      Her married name became Muir.

     Andrew James Muir was born in 1970.¹ He is the son of Hugh James Robin Muir and Maureen Yearsly.²
