     Sir Sidney Patrick Shelley, 8th Bt. was born on 18 January 1880.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Sir Charles Shelley, 5th Bt. and Lady Mary Jane Jemima Stopford.1 He died on 25 July 1965 at age 85, unmarried.1
     Sir Sidney Patrick Shelley, 8th Bt. was educated at Wellington College, Wellington, Berkshire, England.1 He fought in the Boer War between 1900 and 1901.1 He fought in the First World War.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Hampshire Yeomanry.1 He succeeded to the title of 8th Baronet Shelley, of Castle Goring, co. Sussex [U.K., 1806] on 24 September 1953.1
