Anne Rees was the daughter of William Rees.2 She married William Thomas Lewis, 1st Baron Merthyr, son of Thomas William Lewis and Mary Anne John, on 1 March 1864.1 She died on 2 October 1902.1

Herbert Clark Lewis, 2nd Baron Merthyr was born on 3 July 1866.1 He was the son of William Thomas Lewis, 1st Baron Merthyr and Anne Rees.2 He married Elizabeth Anna Couchman, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Richard Short Couchman, on 5 October 1899.1 He died on 20 March 1932 at age 65.1
He was educated at Clifton College, Clifton, Bristol, England.1 He was a civil and mining engineer.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Pembrokeshire.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Pembrokeshire.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Pembrokeshire in 1907.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Radnorshire in 1914.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Merthyr, of Senghenydd, co. Glamorgan [U.K., 1911] on 27 August 1914.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Lewis [U.K., 1896] on 27 August 1914.1

Hon. Trevor Gwyn Elliot Lewis was born on 4 January 1871.1 He was the son of William Thomas Lewis, 1st Baron Merthyr and Anne Rees.2 He married Sara Winston Scales, daughter of C. C. Scales, on 21 November 1903.1 He died on 19 April 1921 at age 50.1
He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1891 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was a practising barrister.1
