     Colette Wise is the daughter of John Douglas Wise.2 She married Jack Henry Edmond Duke, 3rd Baron Merrivale, son of Edward Duke, 2nd Baron Merrivale and Odette Roger, on 30 September 1939.1 She and Jack Henry Edmond Duke, 3rd Baron Merrivale were divorced in 1974.1
     From 30 September 1939, her married name became Duke. After her marriage, Colette Wise was styled as Baroness Merrivale on 8 June 1951.

     William Edward Duke was born in 1828 at Jersey, Channel Islands.1,2 He was the son of Solomon Duke.3 He married, firstly, Elizabeth Ann Lord, daughter of George Lord and Jane (?), on 20 June 1850.1 He married, secondly, Ellen Lord, daughter of George Lord and Jane (?), in 1882 at Tavistock, Devon, England.2 He died in 1898.1
     He was clerk of a granite works in 1861.2 He was an accountant.1 He lived at 22 Richmond Street, Plymouth, Devon, England.1
