     Emily Rutson Alport is the daughter of Henry Rose Alport.2 She married Sir Alexander Macdonell, son of Lt.-Col. Hugh Macdonell and Anne Hughes, in 1867.1
     From 1867, her married name became Macdonell.

Rt. Hon. Sir Hugh Guion Macdonell1

     Rt. Hon. Sir Hugh Guion Macdonell was born in 1832.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Hugh Macdonell and Anne Hughes.2 He married Anne Lamb, daughter of Edward Lamb, in July 1870.1 He died on 25 January 1904, without issue.1
     He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.1 He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant between 1848 and 1853 in the Rifle Brigade.1 He was with the Diplomatic Service in 1853.1 He held the office of Ambassador to Brazil in 1885.1 He held the office of Ambassador to Denmark in 1888.1 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of St. Michael and St. George (G.C.M.G.) in 1899.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1902.1

     From 12 August 1826, her married name became Wynyard.

     Maj.-Gen. Robert Henry Wynyard was born on 24 December 1802 at Windsor Castle, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.2 He was the son of Lt.-Gen. William Wynyard.3 He married Ann Catherine Macdonell, daughter of Lt.-Col. Hugh Macdonell and Anne Hughes, on 12 August 1826 at MaltaG.1,4 He died on 6 January 1864 at age 61.
     He gained the rank of Ensign in 1819 in the 85th (Duke of York's Own Light Infantry) Regiment.2 He gained the rank of Major in 1841.4 He was Lieutenant-Colonel of the 58th Regiment in 1842.2 He fought in the Maori Wars in 1846.2 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)1 He was commander of the New Zealand Forces between 1851 and 1858.2 He gained the rank of Colonel in 1854.2 He gained the rank of Major-General in 1858.2 He was Lieutenant-Governor of the Cape of Good Hope between 1858 and 1862.1,2
