Maurice Patrick Macnaghten was born on 2 March 1874.1 He was the son of Edward Macnaghten, Baron Macnaghten and Frances Arabella Martin.2 He married Sybil Torbock Graham, daughter of Colonel Henry Graham, on 14 October 1912.1 He died on 5 May 1914 at age 40, without issue.1
He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1900.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Scots Fusiliers, attached to the Egyptian Army.1
