     He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Macara, of Ardmore, St. Anne-on-the-Sea, co. Lancaster [U.K., 1911] in 1982.1

     Reverend William Macara was born on 27 May 1812.1 He was the son of Charles Macara.1 He married Charlotte Grace Cowpar, daughter of Thomas Cowpar, on 5 April 1844.1 He died on 11 March 1889 at age 76.1
     He was Minister of the Free Church of Scotland at Strathmiglo, Fife, Scotland.1

Sir Charles Wright Macara, 1st Bt.1

     Sir Charles Wright Macara, 1st Bt. was born on 11 January 1845.1 He was the son of Reverend William Macara and Charlotte Grace Cowpar.2 He married Marion Young, daughter of William Young, on 14 January 1875.1 He died on 2 January 1929 at age 83.1
     He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Lancashire.1 He was Chairman of the Manchester Master Cotton Spinners' Association between 1892 and 1926.1 He was President of the Federation of Master Cotton Spinners' Associations between 1894 and 1914.1 He was created 1st Baronet Macara, of Ardmore, St. Anne-on-the-Sea, co. Lancaster [U.K.] on 9 February 1911.1
