     Eric Henry Edwardes Havelock was born on 9 July 1891 at Kensington, London, England.1,2 He was the son of George Eric Havelock and Elizabeth Maria Caroline Nancey.1 He married, firstly, Christina Ramsey Scott Moodie, daughter of Alexander Moodie, on 28 August 1919.1 He married, secondly, Eileen Potts, daughter of Colonel John William Hastings Potts, on 19 December 1962.1 He died in 1974 at Hove, Sussex, England.1,2
     He was educated at Highgate School, Highgate, London, EnglandG.1 He graduated from Merton College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society Edinburgh (F.R.S.E.)1 He was Administration Secretary of the Agricultural Research Council between 1934 and 1950.1 He was Secretary of the Development Commission between 1934 and 1955.1 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1943.1 He was awarded the Order of the Crown of Belgium with Palms.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1950.1

     Jane Butler was the daughter of James Butler, 9th Baron Caher and Sarah Nichols. She married Thomas Manners-Sutton, 1st Baron Manners of Foston, son of Lord George Manners-Sutton and Diana Chaplin, on 28 October 1815.1 She died on 2 November 1846.1
     After her marriage, Jane Butler was styled as Baroness Manners of Foston on 28 October 1815. From 28 October 1815, her married name became Manners-Sutton.1
