     John Lamont was born in 1741.¹ He was the son of Archibald Lamont of that Ilk and Lady Æmilia Mackenzie.² He married Helen Hall, daughter of Duncan Campbell of South Hall, on 10 August 1773.¹ He died in 1816.¹

     Helen Hall was the daughter of Duncan Campbell of South Hall.² She married John Lamont, son of Archibald Lamont of that Ilk and Lady Æmilia Mackenzie, on 10 August 1773.¹ She died in 1840.¹
      Her married name became Lamont.

     John Lamont was born in 1774.¹ He was the son of John Lamont and Helen Hall.² He married Rebecca Hobbs, daughter of George Hobbs of Barnaboy, in 1805.¹ He died in 1827, with (Amelia Helen, married James G Davidson.¹ He died in 1840.¹
     He was Major-General.¹ Rebuilt Ardlamont, sold Inneryne, inherited Robroyston from cousin Archibald (see below).¹ He was Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) (Bute).¹ OF THAT ILK.¹ In 1830 Augusta Charlotte Matilda, died unmarried.¹ In 1847 Georgina, died unmarried ).¹

     Rebecca Hobbs is the daughter of George Hobbs of Barnaboy.² She married John Lamont, son of John Lamont and Helen Hall, in 1805.¹
      From 1805, her married name became Lamont.

     Archibald James Lamont of Lamont was born in 1818.² He was the son of John Lamont and Rebecca Hobbs.³ He married, firstly, Adelaide Massy-Dawson, daughter of James Hewitt Massy-Dawson and Eliza Jane Dennis, on 1 September 1839.² He married, secondly, Harriet Campbell, daughter of Colonel Alexander Campbell, 1st of Possil and Harriet Maclachlan, in March 1844.¹ He died on 5 May 1862.²
     He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Argyllshire.² He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Argyllshire.²

     George Leighton Seager, 1st Baron Leighton of Saint Mellons was born on 11 January 1896.¹ He was the son of Sir William Henry Seager and Margaret Annie Elliot.² He married Marjorie Gimson, daughter of William Henry Gimson, on 19 January 1921.¹ He died on 17 October 1963 at age 67.¹

(Mon).¹ He was Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1932.¹ In 1938 knighted.¹ On 1 July 1952 so created and 25 Jan 1962 respectively.¹ He was created 1st Baron Leighton of Saint Mellons [U.K.] on 25 January 1962.¹

     Adelaide Massy-Dawson was the daughter of James Hewitt Massy-Dawson and Eliza Jane Dennis.² She married Archibald James Lamont of Lamont, son of John Lamont and Rebecca Hobbs, on 1 September 1839.¹ She died on 24 June 1841.¹
      From 1 September 1839, her married name became Lamont.

     John Henry Lamont was born on 10 March 1854.¹ He was the son of Archibald James Lamont of Lamont and Harriet Campbell.² He died in 1929, when succeeded by his second cousin, EDWARD LOUIS (see below) unmarried.¹
     He was Justice of the Peace (J.P.).¹ He was Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) (Argyll).¹ He was Major 9th Lancers.¹ OF THAT ILK.¹ In 1893 sold Ardlamont and settled in Devon.¹ On 12 January 1909 so recognised by Lord Lyon and matric at LO.¹
