John Lamont was born in 1774.1 He was the son of John Lamont and Helen Hall.2 He married Rebecca Hobbs, daughter of George Hobbs of Barnaboy, in 1805.1 He died in 1827, with (Amelia Helen, married James G Davidson.1 He died in 1840.1
He was Major-General.1 Rebuilt Ardlamont, sold Inneryne, inherited Robroyston from cousin Archibald (see below).1 He was Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) (Bute).1 OF THAT ILK.1 In 1830 Augusta Charlotte Matilda, died unmarried.1 In 1847 Georgina, died unmarried ).1

Archibald James Lamont of Lamont was born in 1818.2 He was the son of John Lamont and Rebecca Hobbs.3 He married, firstly, Adelaide Massy-Dawson, daughter of James Hewitt Massy-Dawson and Eliza Jane Dennis, on 1 September 1839.2 He married, secondly, Harriet Campbell, daughter of Colonel Alexander Campbell, 1st of Possil and Harriet Maclachlan, in March 1844.1 He died on 5 May 1862.2
